Sauðanes Northern Lighthouse

Built in 1934. Active; focal plane 37 m (121 ft); three flashes every 20 s, white or red depending on direction. 10.5 m (35 ft) square cylindrical concrete tower with lantern and gallery, rising from one end of a 1-story concrete keeper's house. Lighthouse painted orange-yellow, lantern red. This is one of two Sauðanes lighthouses in northern Iceland. Located on a cape about 5 km (3 mi) northwest of Siglufjörður. Site open, tower closed.
