World of Lighthouses

New photos of lighthouses around the world every day

North Sea / Suffolk / Orford Ness Lighthouse (High 3)

Built in 1793.
Orford Ness low was built in the same year and abandoned in 1887, the sea took her.
The lighthouse stands on a 10 miles long spit, between the sea and the river Alde. The spit exists by mercy of the sea, trowing up pebbles (flint) to formate a wall.
Very interresting nature.
