The Strait of Messina is certainly a busy sea waterway. This may be one of the reasons why such extraordinary lighthouses are located here - lighthouses with two laterns.

I can't remember ever having seen lighthouses with two laterns before.

What an impressive building ! You only get to know something like this if you love lighthouses !
Admiralty has listed all piers of the Tidal Barrier. Most numbers include two lights, the red ones show an X and the green ones an arrow.
Unfortunately this is not shown in my pics!

Last time I uploaded many pics from the Workington harbour. I have not seen so many lights and daymarks in such a small space. How to use the lights and daymarks?? What is useful for navigation ? What is superfluous ? Why so many lights?

The visit of the Torre de Hércules in La Coruna is a highlight for every lighthouse lover.The lighthouse is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.Inside the lighthouse you can see remains of the old lighthouse.

Lighthouse trails are an easy way to explore lighthouses by car or hiking.
The hiking trail in Galicia is the second trail I know.
The first famous lighthouse route I went by car was in Nova Scotia !

O Camiño dos Faros that runs through loads of different landscapes always looking at the sea towards the West. Lighthouses, beaches, dunes, rivers, cliffs, forests, estuaries with a great variety of birds, "castros" ("hill-forts"), dolmens, fishing villages, viewpoints from where to enjoy how the sea breaks in all ways possible, sunsets and so on. A hiking route different from the others that will take the hiker to a world full of unique sensations only enjoyable in this Costa da Morte.

A very strange light, like a sentry box, I have seen in Ericeira, Portugal !

The Norwegian coastal administration Kystverket, together with the coastal transport museum Kystverkmusea, has now put digital versions of twelve lighthouses online.More will follow !

The "European Route of Lighthouses" was founded in Brussels on September 7, 2023.
The "European Route of Lighthouses", ERoL for short, aims to highlight the cultural significance and
possible uses of European lighthouses based on their past or present function
as a sea mark and navigation aid.

Shortenly Mitko has uploaded a picture of this light.I have found a new situation! I believe also Peter has not found this light in 2022 ! Most web sites still mention this light, but it exist never more!

I have found the light, but I cannot translate the position 43-42-55.890N 087-41-58.380W in a GPS position for Google Maps !

Where is this light No. 6 ? I have no USCG list for Great Lakes. Must be close to Algoma, Wisconsin!
