Travel center / Re: Recently erected lighthouses

I've seen recently build in Bahamas: https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=37874
Traffic also low, main reason i think entertainment, MSC Cruises built whole island and this is part of coastline design.

One more consideration is that Little Sable lighthouse was previously named  Petite Pointe au Sablé and it was white and had a large keeper house nearby, but surrounding area (sandy beach) doesn't really similar to your picture.  https://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=193

Hey Terry,

I went through a bunch of real lighthouses that match the look — tall white tower, rocky coast, keeper's house close by.

Here are the closest real-world examples:
New England:
Portland Head Light (Maine) – tall white tower on dramatic rocky cliffs, big keeper's house nearby. Very classic "American lighthouse" look.
California:
Pigeon Point Lighthouse – very tall white tower, classic coastal setting with keeper's quarters nearby.
Point Arena Lighthouse – tall white cylindrical tower on a rocky promontory, buildings close by.

The thing is, none of them match perfectly.
The tower style looks a lot like Pigeon Point
The rocky cliffs feel like Maine.
The house being so tightly connected to the tower isn't typical for most West Coast station, mostly this setup you can see around Great Lakes.
And the red base doesn't match the real paint schemes of these lighthouses.
So i would bet this is some mix of a classic, idealized American lighthouse image rather than one specific real place.

This is just a assumption that it could be radar reflector inside, so to make this beacon better visible for radar.

Do you remember then you sailed on ferry from Moskenes to Bodø was it from right side or left? Looking at the picture seems it was right side...

In total there is a 100.000+ minor navigational lights in the world. As for lighthouses there are about 20.000 of them. Inland lighthouses can differ from the sea but this depends of the region, i.e. in Great Lakes lighthouses are more less same as in the sea, but in many other areas they are much more simple.

Los faros en aguas interiores pueden diferir de los del mar, aunque esto depende de la región; por ejemplo, en los Grandes Lagos los faros son más o menos iguales que en el mar, pero en muchas otras zonas son mucho más simples.

It seems Middle range lights indicate center of the approach channel and daymarks - south and north edge of it so for the vessel it would be clear which side of the channel she is now. Basically if you see from the bridge any of the side marks inline - means you exactly on the edge and likely need to turn vessel back to center.

Lighthouse is frequently used as a symbol in religion especially in Christianity, so i would say your assumption is quite valid! Even now if you google something lighthouse and church you will see many references.
