Sometimes foghorns (unlit) are shown in the Admiralty list of lights separately under own number. Maybe ARLHS is doing the same?

Great site. There was a site about lightships in Germany but for some reason it was simply shut down while ago.

Site issues / Re: Authorship
December 09, 2019, 11:11:41 AM
Hey! There are few ways to indicate it.

  • If just authorship statement required - you can use watermark in the picture. You can add watermark using simple graphics editor like FastStone (easy to do for many images at the same time, to avoid the manual work)
  • Also you can use "description" field. It's easy to add there just a plane text. If you want to add also the link you must use special url construction
See example how to put URL to the description. So you use square brackets then you set link with http(or https), close the bracket and enter text you want to have on this link. After this you must to close url tag. Let me know if need more help!

Lighthouse identification / Re: what Russia lighthouse ?
November 09, 2019, 08:21:41 AM
(1)  Tricky one. This is very typical light construction in Russia. Need at least name of the area to identify as there are hundreds of such lights i guess.
(2) Dagestan, Makhachkala - 150 y.o. lighthouse in Caspian sea.

Hey! Thanks for interesting question. I've removed another same topic just not to duplicate them.
I dig the database a bit
Norway claims Slettnes lighthouse as the northern one (71°05′22″N)
https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=28037&
But actually in Russia many lights are located much more to North. Most of them are wooden structures like this
https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=20878
But some of them are concrete structures:
Vil'kitskiy lighthouse (73 30.8787 N)
https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=11680
and even far to North Belukha island lighthouse (76 2.9680 N)
https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=13215
https://www.lightphotos.net/photos/displayimage.php?pid=13214
There is very limited information about northern lighhtouses of Russia, but so far i didn't find any other classic lighthouse beyond this latitude.
