BELGIUM - Noord-Hinder - "BIRKENFELS" Wreck buoy
This 156-m long freighter sank following a collision with another vessel in thick fog on 7 April 1966. The "Birkenfels" was owned by German "DDG HANSA" (Bremen) and built in 1951; she was carrying general cargo to the Arabian Gulf.
The wreck has the advantage of being virtually intact and is lying flat on the bottom. It is a target of scuba divers.
