Texel / Eierland Lighthouse and to the left the Coastguard Station.

Built in 1864.
During WW II there where Sovjet war prisoners and volunteers from Georgia, in German uniform on the island. In april 1945 they revolted against the Germans, seizing the lighthouse. In ending this revolt the Germans damaged the lighthouse. There where around 1500 deads, Georgians-Germans and Locals.

In 1948/49 there was a new lighthouse built around the old one.
