World of Lighthouses

New photos of lighthouses around the world every day

Rupelmonde / Lichtschip I

Find all pictures of this light

There have been three Westhinder light vessels in Belgium, all three with the huge Westhinder name painted on both side’s of the ships, this because all of them had to mark a big sandbank into the North sea,the sandbank called WESTHINDER. Every three months the vessels relieved each other at the time they were still in service!! Lightship I,not Westhinder I,which is moored at Rupelmonde (B) for already many years is no longer a museum. The vessel was hired by some asshole and reopened it as a party ship!! But now during last weekend there were found very huge amounts of seven (7) different drugs onboard the ship. The ship was evacuated by strong police forces, closed and sealed immediately. For how long??? Even in cars parked nearby the vessel, the police also found some more big amounts of many different drugs!!
