Croatia/Slovenia and a part of Italy where ruled until WWI by Austria-Hungary. To make a saver passage of there ships possible to the ports of Trieste, Rijeka and the navy-harbour Pula they started in the 19th century to build a line of modern (and nice) lighthouses.
This one, Porer, is one of the oldest, 1833. She warns for the shoals at the southside of Istria, near Pula.
There is also a lower light, in function only when the outer light of Albanež is out of function.
In the Porer lighthouse is a permanent crew and there are appartments for tourists.
I will place here all the lights i visited on this coast, to start with this nice one. Afterwards we will see also a lot of harbourlights, some nearly the same, but nice in the way how they are located.
