The First Baptist Church in Beverly, Ma USA was destroyed by fire in 1975. The steeple was the only part saved. Beside the fact that it is a landmark for the area, I think the extra effort to save it, beside the catastrophe to surroundings if it toppled, was to preserve the channel light in the steeple.
